Last week Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) accused President Trump of calling several countries “s***hole’ nations while negotiating a deal for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA). No one else in the meeting has corroborated the story and others have publicly said Trump never made those remarks. But that hasn’t stopped the media from running wild.
Even Sen. Rand Paul, who has often been a critic of President Trump, said it was ridiculous. He told a story about how Trump funded Paul’s mission trip to Haiti in 2015. Paul spent his trip performing eye surgeries for the needy.
So it was no surprise that MSNBC would confront White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders about the incident. MSNBC asked if Trump was racist and she ended the argument, all the while trashing NBC in the process:
“Look, I think that it is an outrageous claim, and frankly, I think if the critics of the president were who he said he was, why did NBC give him a show for a decade on TV? Why did Chuck Schumer and all his colleagues come and beg Donald Trump for money?
“If they are who they try to portray him as, why did they want to be with him for years and years in various activities, whether it was events and fundraisers and other things. I think it’s just an outrageous and ludicrous excuse, and they need to get on board and start actually doing what they were elected to do.”
Absolutely brutal. Check out the clip above.
